"Right.. Hurry up, though. We need to get there fast.." He ignored Rose's comment and stared back at the direction they came before he trudged through the forest floor, looking back every so often; making sure Rose was keeping up.

Rose tried to walk quickly but she was unsteady on her feet. Everything was dancing but she focused on following David. She slowed down when the whole world around her began to spin. A soft groan of agony escaped her red lips.

Valena made her way to the office, where she explained the situation to the secretary and signed herself out of class for the rest of day. She realized she didn't know either of the others surnames, but she assured the office worker that she would come in the next day with their names.

Rose walked with David to Lena's vehicle. She stopped and looked him in the eyes "How did you do it? I saw him stab you..you should be bleeding profoundly. What are you superman?!?" She pressed her hand where the knife had gone but quickly recoiled "Why are you so cold?" She backed away from him only to get a dizzy spell that caused her to fall to the ground.

He stared at Rose blankly until she began to fall. He sighed and caught her. "You should be more careful.."

She let out a groan and pressed her face into his chest. "Wheres Lenaaa?" She let out another whiney sound as she leaned into him.

She stumbled into the parking lot with her jacket slung over her shoulder and her tiny left hand digging in the pocket of her jeans for the keys to her car. She silently unlocked the doors and climbed into the driver's seat, staring blankly ahead as she internally amended her schedule for the day.

She would take Rose and David to the hospital, give her statement to the police, and then possibly return to school to retrieve the homework for the day from all their classes. Lena made a mental note to request Rose's locker combination, and possibly David's. She suspected the other girl wouldn't be in any shape to return to school for a few days. In the matter of a few seconds, she had formulated a plan and estimated a rough time table.

Let's see.. I'll need to ask for their classes and I can speak to their teachers this afternoon. It should take thirty minutes to an hour for the doctors to decide if Rose needs extensive testing, plus another hour with the police, five minutes to get to the hospital with traffic. I can use the payphone in the waiting room to call Mom, that should only take a few minutes. The doctors should contact Rose's uncle, and David seems like he can take care of himself.. I should probably offer him a ride home. That could take another forty five minutes to an hour.. That's three hours. I'm sure the incident lasted at the very least twenty minutes, so study hall should be over.. I might get back to the school in time to catch most of the teachers before they leave, and I can get the rest tomorrow morning.

She glanced at her mirror, staring at the reflection of the two. Rose was leaning into the silent boy. Her head cocked to the side curiously and she buckled her seat belt. "Are you guys coming?"

He pointed towards the car and whispered, "Already in the car.. Now let's hurry." His eyes closed for a few seconds before reopening as he started to walk faster towards the car, his arm wrapped tightly around Rose to make sure she didn't stumble as they arrived at the car. "Back seat." He opened the door for her and then the front passenger door for himself as he climbed inside and bucked up.

Rose climbed into the vehicle and ended up sprawled across the seat. She forced herself to sit upright and buckled her seatbelt. "Whee.." She spoke in a soft, weak voice.

Lena pushed the tape adapter back into her radio and tossed the mp3 player back to Rose. "Find something to listen to. Take your mind off of things, please." She put the key in the ignition and pulled out of her parking space and into the lot. "I'm going to drive a little bit faster than I should, so please don't worry."

Her gaze flicked toward a sign that proclaimed the area a school zone with a speed limit of five. She rolled her deep brown eyes and slowly started to pick up speed. Her fingers were white from clutching the steering wheel. Lena had never driven over forty five. Part of her wasn't certain her car would make it all the way to the hospital if she went much over fifty, and yet she pushed it to fifty five as they reached the end of the empty road. Her face was tinged grey with worry and she chewed on her lip.

His eyes closed as they had finally left the parking lot. 'Faster than she should.?' He looked over at her hands and noticed they had became white by how hard she was gripping the wheel. 'More like faster than she's gone before..' His eyes slid shut again as he focused on the music that was about to escape from the speakers around him.

Rose looked at Lena's hands, they were becoming white. "geeze.." she whispered before picking something off the Mp3. Out of the speakers in a soft tone came
Dancing bears, painted wings, things I almost remember.. and a song someone sings once upon a December..

Lena relaxed into the seat and hummed softly along. She used to love Anastasia. The music filled the car and mingled with the soft patter of the raindrops on the windshield as they drove toward the hospital. Her grip on the steering wheel loosened.

He looked out the window once the song had came on and watched as the trees passed quickly by the car. He tapped with the beat against the top of the door next to the window. A quick smirk passed his lips as the treeline finally passed.

Rose closed her eyes, she had no idea she was so tired. Soon enough her breathing became slow and even. The voice of Sarah Morgann had put her to sleep.

Lena pulled her blue car carefully into the parking lot, driving straight into the mini-traffic jam of the other students leaving school. She found an empty parking space near to the office and looked at the girl in her passenger seat. Should I wake her up? Maybe I should make her come inside with me..

Rose laid there in the back, she could tell the car had come to a stop but didn't stir. She laid there, her eyes closed. She listened to the noises around her.

David stood near the front doors of the high school as he waited for Valena and Rose. He ran a hand through his shortened hair as he backed up into the shadows of the overhanging at the front entrance. Hm.. So far so good.. Now if we can just get inside without making a scene all I have to do is wait outside Valena's house and keep watch for the other.. he thought to himself as he came up with plans for the rest of the night.

Might as well let her sleep. I'll wake her up when we get to my house later. She turned on the heat to keep Rose warm and climbed out of the car and into the pouring rain. Her hair and clothes were dripping wet again with the rain as she walked toward the office.

She sat up and watched the girl get out into the pouring rain. Knowing the classes her uncle had forced her into there would be alot of work to carry. "Hey!" She quickly yelled at the now drenched girl standing in the rain.

He listened from the entrance he supposed they were going to take and scanned the surrounding area for any signs of the new arrival. He tapped his foot impatiently as waited for the two.

Lena gave an exasperated sigh and walked back to the car. She threw the door open and looked at Rose. "Yes?"

Rose looked up at the small girl. "Can i come too?" She cocked her head to the side causing her face to become shrowded in shadows.

Lena eyed her warily. "I suppose you can.. Bring the jacket." She leaned in to shut off the heat and pulled the keys out of the ignition, then shut her door and walked around the vehicle to open Rose's door.
