Rose walked forward, her arms were crossed and she wore a scowl on her face. She stared at the ground as she moved forward. The wind whipped her long red hair around her head causing her to look like a wild creature.

Valena was laying in the middle of the trail with her arms spread out. She hummed softly as she stared up at the pearly gray sky. It had just stopped raining. She laid there with her hair damp and her sweater balled up under her head like a pillow, seemingly waiting for something interesting to happen.

Rose looked up trying to see through her mass of copper red hair, the dark sky was comforting to her in a way. Rose kept walking, slowly starting to swing her arms as she walked. She concentrated on her freezing body, suddenly she tripped over something.. or someone lying in the middle of the path.

She was just starting to get bored with lying there when someone tripped over her. This probably shouldn't have surprised her as much as it did, seeing as she was in the middle of the walking trail. Nevertheless, she rolled over clumsily and pushed herself up onto her hands and knees. "That was very rude of you, you know." She crawled over to the girl and stared at her. "And probably very dangerous, how do you know I'm not a criminal?"

Rose looked up at the other girl from under her frame of hair. Suddenly she burst into hysterical laughter at the girls words. "You certainly don't look like a criminal. Plus I can handle myself quite fine" She smiled a toothy smile at the girl. "Well i'm Rose by the way. And you are?"

She blinked and stared at Rose. "I am bored. Pleased to meet you, Rose. My name is Valena!" She stood and stared up at the other girl. "You could call me Valena, but I would prefer you call me Lena. It's shorter. Like me. I'm hungry, are you hungry?"

Rose laughed "Sure Lena, i'm a bit peckish" She stood up and brushed her jeans off. Dust came off in great big clouds. She gave the shorter girl a strange look. "Sooooo...yea" She looked around, the Sky growing darker. Thunder could be herd not too far off from where they were standing.

David stood just outside of the trail and hid behind a collection of trees, listening to the females talk. He let out a short inaudible sigh. This part of the forest should have been empty, especially on such a rainy and thunderous day. 'Damn.. 'spose I'll have to hunt a bit later.' He came out from behind the brushed area and walked up to them. "Hey! You two!! Ya'll shouldn't be out here. Can't you hear the thunder?"

Lena tilted her head back to look at the boy. "Just because you hear thunder doesn't mean the lightning is close enough to hit you. Why should I leave just because the weather is getting cranky?" She lost her balance and fell backwards. "Who are you, anyways?"

Rose turned to th man her eyes narrowing down. "Well thats kind of rude.. i thought it was obvious we didn't care about the weather.." She looked at him her eyes soaking him up. This man seemed..different.

He blinked at both of the responses before he shook his head and responded. "My names David Scott. And just because the weather is 'cranky' as you put it, doesn't mean it won't turn dangerous fast." His eyes scanned both females as his right leg went up to scratch the calf of his left.

"David Scott.." Valena stared at him without blinking. "For some reason that reminds me of Star Trek." She lowered her voice. "Beam me up, Scotty!" Lena giggled and snorted.

Rose laughed at Lena's joke. "Heh, well we don't care." She looked at the sky again "I'ma stay out here for as long as I want!" She crossed her arms and gave him a look of pure attitude.

Ugh.. Why did he always end up with the smart asses? He shook his head again before he turned and started walking down the trail back towards Forks. "Yeah, well.. Just remember that creatures of the night also come out during storms." He waved his hand above his head in a wave-type gesture.

Instead of standing up, Valena started to roll after him. "What, like bats? Bats are afraid of storms. Have you ever even seen a bat?" Leaves and twigs started to tangle in her hair.

Rose laughed hystericaly at this guy. She could not believe the words that were coming out of his mouth. "Parinoid?" She said to David trying to bite back her laughter. She turned to Lena "the bats are gonna get us!!! " She placed her hand over her mouth to help supress her laughter. She bent over picking the leaves and twigs out of her friends hair.

Lena jumped to her feet. "Bats! Wooo!" She screeched and balanced on one leg, spreading out her arms and flapping them like wings. "I am bat! Hear me roar!" She screeched again.

Rose began to back up from Lena "OH god NO!!! I'm so scared someone hold me!!" She squealed. Rose ran and hid behind David her red hair flying around her. She stared at Lena in fake fear. "Bats are soo scary!"

He stopped dead in his tracks and looked back at them. "... You two must really be insane.. But no, not bats.. I'm talking about big hairy wolves. The kinds who can eat you in just one bite. Oh, and the boogieman." He rolled his eyes and shook his head. It had been a while since he had actually had a conversation with people. It appears that their sarcasm was rubbing off on him. Or maybe he just wanted to make fun of the kids? Who is too say; He sure couldn't at this moment.

Lena fell over and screamed. "Bats! Oh no! They're coming for me!" She scrambled over to David clumsily and jumped onto him, clinging to his back. "Run, Forrest, run!" She yanked on his shirt collar.

Rose let out a scream "What do you mean wolves?!?! When I came here my uncle said NOTHING about wolves!!" Rose turned even paler is that was even possible and began to shake slighting "uh..er..Lena are you afraid of wolves?"

She let go of David's shirt and fell to the ground. "Oh. Wolves? Uh.. N-No, not really. Not unless they're rabid.." She blinked and clung to David's leg, wondering why he hadn't started running yet.

Rose looked at lena with a strange look on her face. "Well david are they rabid?" She looked at him with fear in her eyes. She absent mindedly rubbed her collar bone in circles. Rose even smiled nervously at him.

He shook his head and sighed once more. "Yes, wolves.. They're wild animals so of course they could be rabid." He turned his head towards the taller female and continued speaking. "And your uncle probably didn't tell you because there haven't been any around for a while. But most people don't come out during thunderstorms.."
